Need for Speed Underground เป็นเกมการเเข่งขันรถใน เวลากลางคืน โดยผู้เล่นนั้นจะมีความอิสระในการปรับเเต่งรถ เครื่องยนตร์ สีสัน เเละ มีให้เลือกหลายหลายเเบรนของรถปี 2003  ในภาคนี้จะเเน่น เมืองนิวยอร์ก ,san francisco. los angeles ทำให้มีสภาพสะเหมือนจริงในเวลากลางคืน ในการเเข่งขั่นผู้เล่นจะพบ สนามการเเข่งขันความยากง่าย เเปลกใหม่ ในการเเข่งรถใต้ดิน ( ผิดกฏหมาย ) เเถมยังสามารถ เล่นเชื่อมต่อกับเพื่อนๆได้อีกด้วย
